Much like Peter, I was rather appalled at the initial version of Rojo -- the speed ( or lack thereof) and the User Interface and admittedly didn't even give it a fair shot. After the redesign, I went back to take a second look. While I still have a few nitpicks (and am pretty sure users not familiar with RSS readers will be less than excited their first run even with this new version ) I am finding quite a few things I really like about the service. What would really sell me on it would be a toggle between notice and pro modes -- all the big buttons and help text for novices and a minimal, clean interface for those of us who are looking for a faster, more information-rich experience without all the frilly graphics.

Hear that folks? Send Rojo your ideas...they're listening!

Thanks for your comments, Mark. I know it probably seems like I was trying to call you out, but I wasn't. I was simply curious about what I had written. Frankly, I didn't remember a word of it!

Josh, thank you very much for your feedback about Rojo in December of last year. I did get your email back then and immediately shared it with the development team. I am glad you note that some of your suggestions were addressed. Every effort has been made, and is being made, to continually improve the service and the bug reports, suggestions, ideas and overall support from many people, like yourself, are very much appreciated and have been integral in that process (even if I didn't write back to you at the time.) Of course more work needs to be done but overall we are very happy with how the service is shaping up. Again, thank you for your feedback... please keep it coming!

To be honest, when I first signed up with Rojo in it's first incarnation, I was so unimpressed with it's interface (even though I was looking to move away from Bloglines) that I didn't even stay around long enough to experience most of the features, or even notice the inconsistencies and problems you talked about in this post. I imported my subscriptions, had a quick look through and decided it wasn't worth the effort.

I logged on again earlier this week, having been reminded that it existed and was surprised by the changes. I think that now it could make it. Not with me. I still don't like it. But it could make it.
