For web designers in particular, designing a web page shows their creativity and artistic flare, whilst correctly demonstrating a site that has both good functionality and appeals to the customer. Design and art both require an idea to work from. A website needs to be attractive and dynamically designed to keep the user entertained. Every site is brainstormed with a design in mind, whereas art can be something with hidden meaning. Design is just the building blocks for something to work correctly.
