The post sounds absolutely right to me but there’s one BUT. How do you think it relates to submitting the blog (not this exact flattering post and only if the blog is actually good) to StumbleUpon or making it your favorite on Technorati? Actually I always do such things because I know that I can bring some additional thousand of visitors to this blog via SU and I am actually willing to help the blogger. Can it also be considered inappropriate?

Right on again Josh. This is not something I have thought about much, but I like to link to other people’s stuff – I will be more conscious to make sure it’s the kind of stuff I want my readers to read (not just read my summary or snippet).

But it is OK to Twitter about flattering posts. Just so everyone’s clear on the ettiquette. It’s human to be a little proud that someone likes your work. Otherwise, people will start to wonder.
