Doc Searls on his new idea: the Intention Economy:
“In The Intention Economy, the buyer notifies the market of the intent to buy, and sellers compete for the buyer’s purchase. Simple as that.”
The whole piece is excellent.

Yea but… how do we, consumers, get to Intention? Doesn’t that asume that we already know exactly what we want? How do we, consumers, know exactly what what we want? We spend some attention, filter it through the people we trust, and then arrive at intent.
There is no such thing as an Intention Economy. However, intention is a important component of the Attention economy. We need to stop inventing economies and develop the ones we already have.
